Meet Our Kids

Friendship is an important part of a child’s social‐emotional development. From our friends we learn to share, to listen, and to express our feelings. But most importantly, our friends give us a sense of belonging. Read about some amazing friendships that have been developed through The Friendship Foundation and by the support of the SKECHERS Friendship Walk.

Kyle & Noah

I first got involved with The Friendship Foundation in seventh grade at a pizza lunch event where I met incredibly fun, friendly people with infectious smiles and contagious laughter. From that moment onward, I discovered how truly special this organization is and was set on volunteering at many of the weekend activities.

Since then, I have volunteered at several Friendship Foundation events, my favorite being the Beach Camp in Torrance. At Beach Camp, I had the pleasure of meeting Noah, an energetic and amiable boy who is always ready to tackle whatever challenges the day might present. Whether it’s yelling “CHARGE” as we plunge into the ocean, or swiftly dodging the rocket fire of dodge balls on the sand, Noah is always approaching each day with a sense of enthusiasm that is felt by everyone around him.

I am so grateful to have this organization in my life because it has exposed me to such diverse, wonderful people and experiences, which have helped shape me to become the person I am today. - Kyle
