Meet Our Kids

Friendship is an important part of a child’s social‐emotional development. From our friends we learn to share, to listen, and to express our feelings. But most importantly, our friends give us a sense of belonging. Read about some amazing friendships that have been developed through The Friendship Foundation and by the support of the SKECHERS Friendship Walk.

Hailey & Holly

I got involved in the Friendship Foundation in 7th grade at Manhattan Beach Middle School. I had been in drama and my teacher had encouraged us to go to lunch with the Friendship Club. It intrigued me so I went and I absolutely loved it. I continued to go throughout my 8th grade year as well. Friendship Foundation gave me a gift of spreading my wings. It is an incredible program. It is one of the many reasons that inspired me to start Anchorless Productions. I am so grateful for that. I met Holly during a rehearsal for The Lion King KIDS. Right off the bat, Holly was this sweet, beautiful girl who was shy, but had the most warm and encouraging smile. She had started the rehearsal process a few weeks in, so I introduced myself to her and her mom. A few weeks later, I grew a great friendship with Holly. I remember days when she’d be upset, I could just sit and talk to her about what’s wrong, by the end of it she’d bounce up and work through it. She’s such an incredible girl and my friendship with her means so much to me. She’s inspired me and encouraged me to move through any obstacle, and I hope she can say the same. - Hailey
