Meet Our Kids

Friendship is an important part of a child’s social‐emotional development. From our friends we learn to share, to listen, and to express our feelings. But most importantly, our friends give us a sense of belonging. Read about some amazing friendships that have been developed through The Friendship Foundation and by the support of the SKECHERS Friendship Walk.

I first found out about the Friendship Foundation from a friend at church. We decided to go to an event together and I had no idea what to expect. To my surprise I was at ease jumping right in and made friends right away.

My favorite activity with the Friendship Foundation has to be their summer camp, Camp Got Friends, because I get to meet a lot of people. Getting buddied up with someone and experiencing such a fun week of activities has impacted me in many ways. The Friendship Foundation means so much to me because I love being with these kids. They make me smile and they are just so friendly. I've had so many buddies since I've been in the program and all I can say to them is you guys have been the best buddies ever. One of them is Austin and we met at Movie Night. We bonded by playing the game Heads-Up and it’s something we do at every event.
