Meet Our Kids

Friendship is an important part of a child’s social‐emotional development. From our friends we learn to share, to listen, and to express our feelings. But most importantly, our friends give us a sense of belonging. Read about some amazing friendships that have been developed through The Friendship Foundation and by the support of the SKECHERS Friendship Walk.

Friendship Foundation has truly changed my life for the better. I started off going to their club at my high school and eventually I began doing other events during the summer and throughout the year. I’ve done it all, from summer beach camps to movie nights at the office to all girls tea parties full of gossip and makeovers. My favorite event to go to is Sports Nights at the L.A. Galaxy Soccer Center. It’s an hour of running around kicking the soccer ball with a newfound friend. It is an amazing way to get your mind off of your endless to-do list of assignments and projects due at school. Friendship Foundation has allowed me to branch out of my comfort zone, and interact with kind, caring and life-changing people that I may have never met without this amazing program.

Kirra and I just recently met and I love the way she brings a positive vibe to any situation she is in. She has a beautiful smile that simply lights up the room. Her massive heart is evident through her thoughtful actions, and I hope to continue to be surrounded by her in the years to come. Every buddy that I have had over the years has a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to meet even more kids and form lifelong bonds in the future.
